The Nigerian film industry popularly known as Nollywood consist of celebrities who bear the same surname, which make some Nollywood fan assume that they are related. However that is not the case as a few of our favorite Nollywood celebrity bear the same surname but they are not related, the fact that they bear the same surname is just a mere coincidence. So not to waste much of your time, after a careful study and research I present to you 10 Nollywood celebrities who bear the same surname but not related by blood.
1. Emeka Ike and Chika Ike
Emeka is a Nollywood actor who has starred in several movies, he is well known in the film industry and has been in the game since early 2000 till date. While Chika Ike on the other hand is also a Nollywood actress, television personality, and a former model. She has being in the game since 2005 till date. Emeka Ike and Chika Ike bear the same surname but they are not related to each other by blood. Emeka Ike is from Imo state while Chika Ike is from Anambra state. There is no Kinship between both pair. They were born in different region and the fact that they bear the same surname is just a mere coincidence. They have both starred in several movies together.
2. Funke Akindele and Seun Akindele
Funke Akindele is a Nollywood actress and film producer she has being active in the film industry since 1998 and has starred in several movies. While Seun Akindele is also a Nigeria actor who started his acting career back then in 2005 after participating at the Amstel Malta box office. Both Funke Akindele and Seun Akindele bear the same surname but they are not related in any way like some people may assume. Funke Akindele is from Lagos state while Seun Akindele is from Ekiti state. However, they have both starred in several movies together.

The majority of Nollywood fan thought Femi Jacob is the son of veteran Nollywood actor Olu Jacob because they bear the same surname. But the truth of the matter is that they are not related by blood. Olu Jacob is a veteran Nollywood actor and producer who has made his mark in the Nollywood film industry with more than 40 years of experience and he is seen as the bridge between the old and new breed of actors. Femi Jacob on the other hand is also a Nigerian actor, speaker and singer he came into the limelight when he portray the role of Makinde Esho in the film “The Meeting” produced by Rita Dominic. Olu Jacob is from Ogun state while Femi Jacob is from Lagos state.
4. John Okafor and Charles Okafor
John Okafor who is popularly known as Mr. Ibu is a veteran Nollywood actor and a comedian. He is considered to be one of Nigeria’s most talented and highly paid actors. While Charles Okafor in the other hand is a veteran Nollywood actor and director, who has now focus on his pastoral calling as a man of God. He was active in the Nigerian film industry in early 2000. John Okafor and Charles Okafor bear the same surname but they are not related by blood. John Okafor also known as Mr Ibu is from Enugu state while Charles Okafor is from Anambra state. They have both starred together in several Nollywood movies.
5. Kenneth Okonkwo and Mercy Kenneth
Kenneth Okonkwo is a veteran Nollywood actor, lawyer and politician. He has been in the Nigerian movie industry for over 30 years. While Mercy Kenneth in the other hand is a Nollywood teen actress who joined the Nigerian film industry few years ago as a child actor. They have been so many speculations that Mercy Kenneth is the daughter of Kenneth Okonkwo, well the truth of the matter is that Mercy Kenneth is not related to Kenneth Okonkwo by blood. She is the daughter to Pastor and Mrs Kenneth Okonkwo, a Nigerian Pastor. Kenneth Okonkwo is from Enugu state while Mercy Kenneth is from Imo state. It is a coincident that her biological father and Nollywood actor Kenneth Okonkwo bear the same English name and Surname.
